Episode 1 (6/1/01)
A patrolman making his rounds is seriously wounded by a knife-wielding assailant. A card from a video rental shop seems to be the only clue. Yasuura recognizes the manager of the video shop as a former juvenile delinquent.
Episode 2 (6/8/01)
Freelance writer Okada is killed in a fall. Yasuura questions Shizuka, who was seen leaving the site immediately after. She denies knowing Okada, but Yasuura soon has his doubts about her.

A murdered man is found with the business card of a transvestite bar. "Momoko," the manager of the bar, is an acquaintance of Yasuura's. Momoko's family had been at odds with the victim's family...

The manager of a beauty salon is murdered. Oki, a man who owed her money, had visited her after closing. He looks suspicious, but he isn't the only one she'd lent money to...

An architect is found dead on a construction site. Nearby is the half-eaten lunch stolen from one of the workers. When Yasuura discovers that other workers have also had their lunches stolen, he sets a trap...

A host at a nightclub is killed. Police suspect Kazue, the wife of a company director. She's arrested when her fingerprints are found on the murder weapon. She confesses to the crime, but Yasuura has his doubts.
Episode 7 (7/13/01)
Wada, a bank official, is killed. Police question Hirai, whose prints were found at the scene. Hirai is saved by a client who vouches for him. Another man with a motive appears. His father had committed suicide after being refused a loan by Wada.
Episode 8 (7/27/01)
A man suspected of raiding girls' high schools is found dead. It looks like an accidental tumble from his bicycle, but when his wallet is found empty, police cannot rule out foul play. A young girl seen with the man could hold the key....
Episode 9 (8/3/01)
A baby is found abandoned at a supermarket. Haruko returns it to its mother, Hiromi, who begs Haruko to keep the baby for a day. The next morning, HIromi is found near death at a "love" hotel. The baby presents a great puzzle to the police.
Episode 10 (8/10/01)
Satomi proposes to Keiko, a widowed taxi driver. Unfortunately, her son is against the match. Keiko is arrested for the death of a fellow taxi driver. He had been harrassing her since she surpassed him in gross receipts.
Episode 11 (7/20/01) [8:00-9:30pm]
Detective Yasuura is called to the scene when a woman is reported missing from her home. According to her husband, 3 million yen is also missing. As the investigation proceeds, Yasuura finds that Tamami goes by her maiden name and the address on her insurance card does not match her current address. To complicate matters further, a woman with the same name reports that someone has tampered with her family records....
Episode 12 (8/17/01) [Part 1 of 2]
The Yamate-Chuo Precinct has been plagued with random attacks on young women. Miyake, a witness, describes the attacker as around 20. He claims he asked another middle-aged man to call the police after the incident, but he's nowhere to be found. A few days later, Miyake calls the police saying he's found the attacker. When police hurry to the scene, Miyake is nowhere in sight. Then, the next day, he's found dead in a phone booth nearby.
Episode 13 (8/24/01) [Part 2 of 2]
There seem to be two leading suspects in the case. One is a middle-aged newspaper subscription solicitor, and the other a college dropout working at a coffee stand. Yasuura uses his powers of observation and reasoning to weed out the perpetrator.
Episode 14 (8/31/01)
Haruko rescues a woman who is being molested, but the woman promptly runs off. Haruko has no choice but to release the man, but he is later found dead. A search of his room uncovers secretly taken photos of unsuspecting women. One turns out to be of the woman Haruko saved.
Episode 15 (9/7/01)
Nemoto is killed with a metal baseball bat. The witness, a middle school student, says he didn't see the culprit's face, but police suspect he's protecting someone. Furusawa comes under suspicion, especially after his prints are found on the bat.
Episode 16 (9/14/01)
The police are called to a restaurant when a woman who claimed she had to run home for her wallet, fails to return. The proprietor is more concerned about the state of the woman, than about the money. Apparently, she's the mother of a child who was killed outside the restaurant a year ago.
Episode 17 (9/21/01)
Arai is found dead. Police discover that he was with Yukari, whom he had been trying to recruit for his boss' prostitution ring. Yukari admits to being with him that night, but claims she left early because of an appointment the the shoeshine woman, Kikuyo.
Episode 18 (9/28/01)
Satoko had escaped from her abusive husband, but he can't seem to forget her. Police go after him after he attacks her sister who refused to tell him where Satoko is. They stake out Satoko's apartment, but fail to catch him. Then, one night, Satoko is pushed down some stairs...
Episode 19 (10/5/01)
A boutique owner is found dead in her apartment. A neighbor saw someone hurry out of that apartment and bump into a woman coming from the unit beyond. Police track down the woman, but she insists she was not at the scene that day.
Episode 20 (10/12/01)
Mieko is found dead. Police question Kumiko, whose little daughter had been at odds with Mieko's daughter over a part in a kindergarten play. Kumiko's footprints match those found at the crime scene. She finally confesses, but then there's a surprising turn of events.
Episode 21 (10/19/01)
Reiko, a stewardess, is found murdered in her apartment. The main suspect is her lover, Makiyama, a married man. Haruko reluctantly agrees to question his wife Junko, who happens to be an old friend of hers. Makiyama confesses to having an affair with Reiko, but not to killing her.
Episode 22 (10/26/01)
An elderly woman is found dead in her kitchen. Her death looks like an accident, but police can't seem to figure out how it was engineered. They begin to suspect her son-in-law when it's learned that he had been bad-mouthing her and seemed unhappy with his life.
Episode 23 (11/2/01)
Masayo, a masseuse, is found dead. Her husband had considered returning to his first wifeYuriko, but according to Yuriko, she decided it would not be in the best interest of their children. Yasuura suspects Masayo's employer, who seemed to be inordinately upset with her.
Episode 24 (11/9/01)
An elderly woman disappears after leaving a letter. Five million yen is discovered to have been withdrawn from her savings account by a suspicious man. Yasuura is stunned to discover that he knows the man on the bank's surveillance tape.
Episode 25 (11/30/01)
Company president Morita is killed in his hospital room. The autopsy shows that he ate some caramelized ayu just before his death, and chances are it was brought to him by a visitor. Meanwhile, Chief Yokomizo is sent a package of the same caramelized fish, along with a letter from an anonymous woman.
Episode 26 (12/7/01)
Motoko is found dead at the site of the new shop she and her husband were about to open. A witness heard people arguing, then saw a woman running away. Her husband suspects Chiho, who used to work in his office. He claims he was once stalked by her after he'd done her a favor.
Episode 27 (12/14/01) Final Episode.
A bank officer is attacked as he is placing money into an ATM machine at a supermarket, and is relieved of 1.7 million yen. An earring found in the getaway car is traced to an employee of the market. Her boyfriend is identified as the culprit, but he has an alibi supported by a man he met at a park...
