Episode Synopses
Episode 1
Sakazume, a former punk straightened out by Yasuura, is charged with running down a man with his bike. Although Sakazume says the man seemed to be drunk, police find no evidence to support his claim. A schoolmate of the victim comes under suspicion.

Episode 2
For a week now, Narumi has had a nagging feeling that she was being watched. Yasuura witnesses a young man lay a bouquet of flowers on the street outside her apartment, then walk away. The fingerprints of the suspect in a murder three years ago are found on the wrapping.

Episode 3
Tsukamoto, an office worker, is found dead in a movie theater. He and Shiina had gone out on sales calls, but according to Shiina, they went their separate ways after lunch. Shiina seems to be under some stress at home where his wife and mother do not get along.

Episode 4
A robber makes away with 30 million yen in cash after knocking out the manager of a supermarket. Police find Lt. Kawabe’s name card clutched in the victim’s hand. According to Yamada, the first person on the scene, the robber identified himself as a cop.

Episode 5
One of the female members of a gang of high school bullies is slashed with a blade one day. The deaf sister of the girl who has been the target of their bullying comes under suspicion.

Episode 6
The murdered body of the foreman is found at a construction site. He had been accused of doing shoddy work, and was in conflict with the client. Yasuura finds that the murder is connected with kickbacks that the parent company has been receiving.

Episode 7
Kameyama, an elderly man who lived alone in an apartment, is found murdered. He had gotten himself a karaoke machine and angered his neighbors by singing late into the night. The prime suspect is a recently-released ex-convict.

Episode 8
Saeko, who writes for a horse racing sheet, is accosted one day by Katsuyo, who claims that her husband lost a fortune because he had put his faith in Saeko’s predictions. Then, a woman who’s husband worked at the same firm as Katsuyo’s husband is found dead.

Episode 9
A corporate executive is killed when he is knocked off a train platform by a woman. His wife is suspected of having hired an insurance saleswoman to kill him.

Episode 10
A woman pulls the wool over Detective Yamaoka's eyes and walks off with a bag that was being held at the precinct. The same lady is later suspected in a murder.

Episode 11
One night, an anonymous call comes in with a murder confession. The body of Keiko, a home aide, is later found in a park. She had been helping to care for a senile elderly woman.

Episode 12
Mieko, a middle school teacher is murdered. Before her death she had confronted her ex-husband and complained about his new wife and her relationship with Mieko's son.

Episode 13
A woman is found strangled in her apartment. Her friend notices a book is missing from the apartment. That book seems to hold the key to the murder.

Episode 14
Reiko, who was transferred to headquarters from the Yamate-Chuo Precinct, discovers that her ex-husband is suspected of murder. Reiko asks Yasuura to assist in the investigation.

Episode 15
Satomi falls madly in love with a hair stylist. When Yasuura is introduced to her, he is stunned because she looks so much like a woman wanted for marriage fraud.

Episode 16
When Yokota is found murdered in his home, his lover comes to light. Chiharu had left her husband and daughter a year before, to be with Yokota.

Episode 17
A man is found dead on the street. Four years before, he had fatally injured a kindergartener with his bike in this very spot. Was he killed for revenge?

Episode 18
(Shown in Two Parts) Yasuura goes to Hamamatsu to visit the air base where his brother, who was killed in the war, was stationed. There he meets Chizuko, a woman who knew his brother during the war. An elderly shopkeeper is killed a few days later. Yasuura discovers that Chizuko was seen at the shop that day.

Episode 19
When Yokota is found murdered in his home, his lover comes to light. Chiharu had left her husband and daughter a year before, to be with Yokota.

Episode 20
Kazuko reports a suspected case of arson. Her father-in-law, who witnessed the crime seems reluctant to describe the arsonist.

Episode 21
Yasuura becomes concerned with the problems of the elderly when he befriends a man who's caring for his elderly father.

Episode 22
After a burglary at a women's dorm, Tamaki finds a red wallet tucked into his desk. Later, when a murdered man is discovered, evidence seems to point to Tamaki.

Episode 23
The leader of a self-help organization is found murdered. The organization was being criticized by the mother of a member who had committed suicide.

Episode 24
The owner of the barbershop frequented by the detectives is attacked one night. The police suspect her ex-husband, but he denies having any contact with her for the past 3 years.
