Friday's Lovers (Kinyobi no Koibitotachi e)
Madoka is transferred to the secretarial pool when the company goes through restructuring. It's a letdown after being in the busy Sales Department, but Madoka tries to find her place there. She meets and falls in love with Haruki, a security guard, but trouble rears its head in the form of Kaori, Haruki's ex-girlfriend.

Episode Synopses

Episode 1
Bad things come in threes. Saleswoman Madoka loses her appointment book and searches fruitlessly through the garbage bags. When she gets home, her boyfriend comes to break off their relationship. The next day, she finds that she's been reassigned to the secretarial pool!

Episode 2
Madoka notices that Kaori seems to have more than a passing interest in Haruki. Her attempt to get Kaori to talk is thwarted when Yuji, her ex-boyfriend, shows up wanting to make up with her. Madoka's start as an executive secretary is a rocky one. She would still rather be in sales.

Episode 3
Kaori seems concerned that Madoka and Haruki are an item, but meanwhile, she is making plans to get married. When Madoka meets Kaori's intended, she's very disappointed in him, and tries to talk Kaori out of marrying him.

Episode 4
Kaori supresses her own feelings for Haruki, and tries to encourage his relationship with Madoka. Takumi learns from Kuroda that the company is planning a chain of Italian restaurants. He tells Madoka to come up with ideas for the chain, if she wants to return to Sales.

Episode 5
Haruki plays the piano at Kaori's engagement party. Drawn to his music, she suddenly blurts out, "I can't get married," and races out of the restaurant. Worried about Kaori, Haruki goes to her apartment where he stays overnight, watching over her as she sleeps.

Episode 6
Madoka is very hurt to find Kaori in Haruki's arms, but she tries to hide her feelings from them. The company president dies and Makihara is given a title which practically guarantees his promotion to president. Kuroda is in shock.

Episode 7
Kaori does her best to get Haruki back on track as a musician, but Haruki rebuffs her, saying she's trying to live in the past. Meanwhile, the stockholders' meeting is postponed because of rumors of a scandalous magazine story on Makihara.

Episode 8
Madoka bumps into Kaori and Haruki on her way to work. Kaori blithely tells her that she spent the night with Haruki. Meanwhile, Kuroda is recovering after attempting suicide. Madoka goes to a concert with Takumi, and ends up double-dating with Kaori and Haruki.

Episode 9
Madoka and Haruki find Kaori unconscious in her apartment from a drug overdose. She recovers, but is very bitter. Madoka is reassigned to the Food Division, and will be sent to Italy. Meanwhile, Takumi proposes to her, complicating her life even further.

Episode 10 - Final Episode
Madoka will leave for her assignment in Milan in January. Takumi keeps talking about their marriage, but Madoka finally tells him she can't marry him. Madoka opens up to Reiko, who advises her to fight for the man she loves.
