Episode 1 (12/2/99)
Newlyweds Kohei and Shoko are forced to move in with her parents because their new apartment isn't ready. Kohei doesn't get along too well with her hard-headed dad, but he's willing to compromise since they'll be just five minutes from the beach. However, they find all's not well between her parents.
Episode 2 (12/9/99)
Kohei is browbeaten by his father-in-law. One night, he bumps into Shoko's younger sister, Kuriko at a nightclub. Although she's still a student, she moonlights as a hostess at the club to pay for expenses. Shoko gets jealous when she finds a matchbook in Kohei's pocket with a woman's name on it.
Episode 3 (12/16/99)
Takuzo gets an eyeful when he bumps into Junko in the bathroom. Her boyfriend, Ittetsu, is upset about it, and the harmony among the menfolk is threatened. When Takuzo goes to apologize to Junko, they find that they have a lot in common. Junko even asks Takuzo to pose as an underwear model.
Episode 4 (12/23/99)
Kohei and Shoko plan to take a trip to to celebrate their 1st anniversary, and to get away from everyone. When their plans fall through, they offer her parents 100,000 yen to go on a trip. When Shoko's older sisters hear of this, they complain that she is making them look bad. They all pitch in, and soon there's enough money for a trip to Hawaii!
Episode 5 (12/30/99)
With everyone out of the house, Kohei and Shoko are alone at last. However, Kohei calls to tell Shoko that he'll be late at the office. Having prepared a full-course dinner for their special evening, Shoko threatens to bring another man home for the feast. Troubles begin when she makes good on her word!
Episode 6 (1/13/00)
Junko wins an award for Best New Photographer at a prominent magazine publisher. Ittetsu has promised to present his girlfriend Junko with a bouquet at the awards ceremony...but something doesn't feel right. What is happening to Ittetsu's heart?
Episode 7 (1/20/00)
Daisuke decides to take a break from the womenfolk. He orders Kohei, Takuzo, and Ittetsu to clean the house while he's away. While the men are busily cleaning, a stranger enters and makes himself at home! The intruder turns out to be Daisuke's old friend from college. More than 20 years ago, Daisuke and this old man even competed for Asako's love...
Episode 8 (1/27/00)
Now buddies, Kohei, Takuzo, and Ittetsu visit a bar. To everyone's surprise, the oldest of the three, Takuzo, picks up a woman named Eriko. He takes her back to her hotel, but Kohei and Ittetsu become nervous when he isn't home after midnight. He gets into big trouble when he tells the guys that he's in love with Eriko!
Episode 9 (2/3/00)
Takuzo announces that he will quit being a businessman and pursue his dream of becoming a chef. The family opposes, and his relationship with Haruko remains chilly. Shoko makes Haruko see a doctor when the summer heat makes her feel ill. Is she all right? Later, the Umino family goes to the beach, but a shocking incident is about to take place!
Episode 10 (2/10/00)
Summer is coming to an end, but this marks a new beginning for several people of the Umino household. Under pressure, Ittetsu feels compelled to go to a job interview for the first time. See what happens when he shows up in his usual casual attire. Will this be a new beginning, too, for the bohemian Ittetsu?
Episode 11 (2/17/00)
Troubles begin when Junko witnesses Daisuke with Kamome Mama. Meanwhile, Kohei's transfer to the New York office is confirmed, but Shoko does not want to sacrifice her career to go with him. Kohei, disappointed with Shoko's suggestion to live apart, accepts a date with a receptionist...while Shoko seeks solace in Kohei's understanding friend! Incredibly, Daisuke, Kohei, and Shoko, with their respective dates, all rendezvous at the same "secret" meeting place! And guess who else shows up!?
Episode 12 - Final Episode (2/24/00)
After an eventful summer, the Umino family members will go on their separate ways. Junko and Ittetsu are finally getting married, but the father of the bride has bittersweet feelings. On the night before the wedding, Daisuke decides to go drinking and gets arrested! Will he make it to the wedding? Will the wedding go on?
