Beauty and Power (Onnatachi no Teikoku)
Two of Japan's top actresses, Fuji Junko and Toake Yukiyo, star in this blockbuster miniseries about love and power in the cosmetics empire. Imperial Cosmetic has introduced a new line called "Speak" upon which rests the success of the entire company. It is the brainchild of sales manager, Sawada Kyoko, who has worked her way up the corporate ladder. However, a scandal breaks out when it is reported in the trade papers that the new line caused a rash which forced the campaign girl to go into hiding.

Furthermore, a rival company has come out with an almost identical line. The ensuing investigation within the company is led by purchasing manager, Ogata Nobuko (Fuji Junko), who is not only the lovechild of the late founder of the company, but also Kyoko's fiercest rival. Also starring Hayashi Ryuzo, Wakamura Mayumi, and Nakao Akira.
Episode 2A (2/24/98) & Episode 2B (3/03/98) - final episode
Sales for the new line, Speak, take a drastic downturn and the company is on the brink of disaster. Forced to work together in order to save Imperial Cosmetics, Nobuko and Kyoko learn that someone in the company is trying to take control of Imperial stocks. Suspicion falls on Nobuko's husband, Takashi, next in line for the presidency. Although her relationship with her husband has been cold, Nobuko had decided to give her marriage another try when the scandal with Speak broke out. Her faith in Takashi is put to the test when she is shown a photo of him meeting Tsukiyama Mizue, the campaign girl.
