Abandoned at the age of five by her mother, deaf and mute Mahiru Morita's life has been filled with unending sorrow. Living with step-parents in O kinawa , she is treated cruelly at home and school on a regular basis. Through it all she dreams of one day finding her true mother living in far-off Tokyo . When Kazuki, a young man attending college in Tokyo , comes to visit Okinawa on a scuba diving expedition, a life-threatening incident brings these two young hearts together. As their adventure unfolds, young Kazuki recounts to Mahiru the fable of how a young girl is showered with coins from heaven in admiration of her purity of heart. Is Mahiru one such girl? Can she make her dream of finding her mother a reality?

Episode 1
Morita Mahiru (Hoshino Mari) was born deaf on a remote island in Okinawa and separated from her parents when she was only five. Her foster parents, who ran a dilapidated diner, abused her and did not allow her to attend school. Then one day, Mahiru saves a drowning boy named Muraoka Kazuki (Fujiwara Tatsuya).

Episode 2
With Kazuki’s assistance, Mahiru arrives in Tokyo where her real mother lives, but they part once again. Mahiru moves in Kazuki, but Mahiru can neither hear nor speak and Kazuki does not know sign language. Deep down inside, however, both know there is something special between them.

Episode 3
Mahiru runs out from Kazuki’s apartment after a petty argument. She meets a wonderful older man named Shusuke (Enoki Takaaki) who sees immense potential in Mahiru.

Episode 4
Kazuki’s mother, Yoshie (Yoshida Kyoko), arrives suddenly in Tokyo from Yamagata and finds Kazuki and Mahiru living together. When she discovers that Mahiru is deaf and dumb, she opposes their relationship. Kazuki becomes worried for Mahiru, who left the apartment. When Mahiru calls from his friend’s apartment, Kazuki greatly regrets what he has done and confesses his love to her for the first time.

Episode 5
Kazuki realizes he is deeply in love with Mahiru. Hiroto tells Mahiru, the first woman he had truly fallen in love with, that he loves her, but makes her promise not to tell Kazuki. Mahiru, hurt and confused, visits Shusuke.

Episode 6
Kazuki is my “Heaven’s coin”… With that single thought, everything becomes clear to Mahiru. She concentrates all her energies on running with the company track team coached by Shusuke. There, Mahiru meets the gifted runner, Aso Eri (Konishi Manami).
