Orange Days
Yuuki Kai (Tsumabuki Satoshi) is a college student near graduation and is starting to look for a job in the real world. His girlfriend, Takagi Maho (Konishi Manami) is a graduate student who works with the disabled. One day Kai and his friends, Keita and Shouhei, steal some oranges. Later as Kai is walking on campus he becomes enchanted with a girl playing the Violin. With no money to spare he gives the girl his orange. The violin player, Sae Hagio (Kou Shibasaki), is deaf and will soon become a bigger part of Kai's life. Watch as this drama delves into the friendships, challenges, and emotions these 20 somethings face on and off the college campus.
Episode 1
Struggling to line up a job upon graduation from college, Kai finds himself envious of both Keita, who already has a job lined up, and Shohei, who has no intension of getting a job. While on campus, he meets Sae, a violinist, but becomes upset with the way she seems to ignore him, completely unaware that she had lost her hearing four years earlier.
Episode 2
Sae sells her violin in an attempt to give up music for good. Kai’s girlfriend, Maho, who belongs to the sing language circle at school, shows up, saying she has come to give Sae support. Sae becomes peeved with the way Maho treats her like handicapped person.
Episode 3
Sae finds herself attracted to Kai because he cared enough to stand up on her behalf even though he was anything but a fighter. Despite her feelings, however, Sae tries hard not to show it when Kai happens to bring Sae a wonderful opportunity to join a famous orchestra club.
Episode 4
Keita proposes that the group should do something to have one lasting memory before they each go their separate ways. Kai and his group of five decide to write their daily thoughts in orange notebooks and form the “Orange Club.” Kai is stunned, however, when Maho tells him that they should not see each other as much anymore.
Episode 5
Kai begins working part-time at a hospital in the hopes of becoming an occupational therapist. Sae also begins looking for job, but is constantly reminded of her handicap. But then, she is surprised to see that Shohei and the others have causally begun using sign language in their conversation.
Episode 6
After going camping together, Akane begins to take interest in Shohei. Sae seeks Kai’s advice when she finds no other path for herself after college other than music. Having heard of Sae’s talent from Sae’s mother, Kai persuades Sae to pursue music as a career.
Episode 7
Sae begins working part-time at a hotel lounge. There, she sees Kakizaki, a senior student she admired greatly during her days studying abroad. Though Sae had said she would not fall in love, her feeling waver in the face of Kakizaki’s advances.
Episode 8
Kai makes up his mind to date Sae seriously. Sae tells him she is only being kind to him out of sympathy and with a sense of superiority. This infuriates Kai. After bein at his fathers's side during surgery, Keita announces that he will return to hometowbn and take over the family business instead of seeking employement in Tokyo as planned.
Episode 9
Kai feels truly happy now that he and Sae are together. Yuriko realizes her dream of being invited to be part of an orchestra in Germany. She invites Sae yo fo with her, but Sae is not sure. Haruki, one of Sae's relatives, visits from Germany.
Episode 10
Sae is injured in a traffic accident. Fortunately, her injuries are not serious. Yuriko is shocked to learn that Sae had been hiding how bad her ear infection had become. yuriko and Sae leave for Germany, where Yuriko convinces Saeto have an operation performed by Haruki's friend, a skilled surgeon.
Episode 11
Several months after Sae leaves for Germany, Kai receives a letter from her with nothing written on it but a circle. Meanwhile Shohei returns briefly from Tibet to attnd graduation. With Shohei's urging, Kai makes up his mind to marry Sae and heads out to purchase a wedding ring. Sae however, is getting ready to marry Haruki.
