May I purchase copies of KIKU programs?
Due to copyright constraints, we are not allowed to make, rent, or sell copies of programs airing on KIKU. However, we do rebroadcast some shows, which allows viewers to watch episodes missed during the first run. If you have missed an episode, you can go to our Message Board to inquire if any other viewer has taped that episode and is willing to lend or trade you that copy.

Where may I purchase a recording of a show's theme songs?
Stores in Hawaii that carry Japanese CD's include Hakubundo, Tower Records, Casper Video and Shirokiya. You may also purchase CD's from online stores which specialize in Asian CD's sales.

Why are the Japanese drama series so short?
In Japan, a typical modern drama series will run between 10 to 13 episodes. If a particular series is popular in Japan, there is a possibility of a sequel, e.g. Heaven's Coins 3 or Hagure Keiji 17!

When will a Japanese drama be rebroadcast?
In general, most dramas (except for those from NHK) will be rerun within a year of their original telecast.

How can I find out about new KIKU shows?
A program schedule is located right here under the schedule heading. Viewers may also click the shows button below to get more information on a story line and a listing of the main actors. Other sources of KIKU show information include Kokiku Magazine (English and Japanese) and Hawaii Herald (English only).

Where is KIKU seen?
Our broadcast reaches 6 of the main islands of Hawaii--Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kauai and Hawaii (the Big Island). Also, a number of our subtitled shows are occasionally seen in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
